Ductwork is easy to forget about, since it’s hidden in walls, attics, and crawlspaces — but leaky, poorly sealed, or badly designed ducts are one of the most common reasons a perfectly good furnace or AC still can’t keep a home comfortable.
Signs your ductwork needs attention
- Some rooms are noticeably hotter or colder than others
- Weak airflow from vents, even with the system running
- Higher-than-expected heating and cooling bills
- Excess dust, or a musty smell when the system runs
- Ductwork that’s visibly damaged, disconnected, or was never sealed properly
We repair and reseal existing ductwork, and design new duct layouts for additions, finished basements, and renovations where the existing system needs to reach new square footage. Sealing leaky ducts alone can noticeably improve comfort and lower your energy bills, often without needing to touch the furnace or AC unit itself.
If a room is difficult to duct at all, a ductless mini-split is sometimes a more practical fix than extending ductwork to reach it.
